American Enterprise Institute is a “think tank” that sacked a guy for sharing his thoughts. Conservative David Frum loses think tank job after criticizing GOP approach to health care, according to the washingtonpost.com. Interesting. Tells you something, doesn’t it? What kind of thinking can occur in a think tank that fires their fellows for expressing their thinking, for writing? None. That’s a Right-Wing think tank for you. I am glad that I work at a university the protects academic freedom–the rights of faculty to think, express themselves, and share their opinions. In fact, the diversity of opinion, if not the diversity of community, is why American universities are arguably America’s greatest contribution to the world.
