So Kristi was listening to the World yesterday, where Alex Gallafent discussed the song’s evolution. I became curious and did some searching, discovering NPR’s Bob Boilen discussing it on All Songs Considered, and writing about it on his blog, About A Song: ‘Hallelujah’, including a listing of its lyrics. What is that song about? I just love the contrasts; it is really poetry, making me admire Leonard Cohen even more.

I first heard the John Cale version of it on a tribute album to Leonard Cohen, titled “I’m your Fan”, which has a number of great performances of his songs.

Hallelujah is one of my favorite songs of all time.
