So, Sarah Palin is now claiming she took a pay cut as Mayor of Wasilla. Guess what, her pay went up, as documented by Greg Sargent at TPM.
Now Blake Dvorak of RealClearPolitics (normally a right-leaning but pretty reasonable place) claims Sargent is absurd because he isn’t taking inflation into account. Um, Inflation Anyone? – Real Clear Politics – Elections 2008 – TIME.
He ends with “how absurd.” Indeed, how absurd to defend Palin’s latest lie on a technicality. You would think that he’s kidding.
Most Americans’ pay is not indexed on inflation, even salaried workers like myself. By Dvorak’s logic, I’m taking a pay cut quite often, even though my salary goes up. So, think about it. I am taking a salary cut every year!!!! Wow, am I generous.
Well guess what, we voters see right through this crap. We know Palin is lying. We know her defenders don’t give a damn about the truth, and we resent it. This explains why Palin’s approvals and her postive/negative numbers will continue to drop. When all you do is deceive, offering nothing positive, and have no record that’s what happens eventually.
Even funnier is the fact that I, and other critics, will be labeled as “sexists” because we dare challenge Palin. Imagine, a Republican (the party that has so tarred feminists and “feminazis”) caring about women’s issues, much less about sexism. It’s almost funny the degree to which Republican shills are whining.
