In recent months, I have found less and less agreement with Paul Krugman. But his discussion of Republican’s Resentment Strategy offers some insight into the odd tone of the Republican convention and that vitriol and hate needed to get Republicans enthused. Interestingly, I used to think that Republican activists just didn’t get it, but I think they are, deep down, bullies who are fearful that the rest of the class has figured them out.
