The Valley of the Shadow: Two Communities in the American Civil War

by Mark Tebeau | October 10th, 2007

Peruse the following website for class on Friday: The Valley of the Shadow: Two Communities in the American Civil War. We will use it to continue our discussion of the Civil War. I want you to think about (and come to class with a short written description of) how you would use it to teach the Civil War in your classroom. In particular, think about how you might use documents from this collection to teach the Civil War and historical thinking–ala our conversation in class today about Shannon’s documents.
